4 Days to Go!

I'm nursing a cup of coffee for as long as I can this morning to give Mother Nature time to warm up. While doing that, I thought it might be interesting to show you what I do with the paintings now numbering close to 100, 95 to be exact. I hope to make up the extras but that's a question for me still. If the weather had been a little more co-operative, no sweat. But when you're in the car or dealing with the winds it's enough to get the alloted 4 done in one day and any extras are really hard to do.

When I started thinking about doing this in late March, I thought about what I would do with all of those panels once they had wet paint on them and needed somewhere to dry and stay safe (from the cat... Sargent). I went to a the music store and measured the DVD wire racks. The tallest one holds 50, the shorter two hold 32 or so. They work out perfectly and would even work for 6x8's if you put them in there the narrow way.

Also... The Newsletter will be back on track tonight. Problem solved. Sorry that it took 5 days but not everyone works on weekends!?!? ;-)

Marc I hope you are going to get ultra high quality scans of those paintings for your best selling book before you send them off. :-)

LOVING this idea with the CD racks! My studio is a mess anyway, but how simple is it to slide them onto a little shelf, than to balance them precariously on any free surface I can find??!

Funny - my dog is named Sargent too. Sarge for short : )

I'll bet your cat's named after John Singer. Am I right??

Hi Marc,
Thanks for sharing you drying idea. I work with a lot of 6x8 so this will be a great space saver.
I'll be really sorry when you stop your marathon paintings.

I think a book would be nice also. I think you saw my dvd rack, then got one of your own. :)

Thank you once again Linda!

Eugene I'm thinking of it. Probably will just take some time and reshoot them myself to save $$$$$. I've had my own images used in magazine publishing and they are fine.

Leslie... there you go again!!! :-) The weather is never going to warm up here, I don't think? I need to stop just to clean my house and check my mail. Thanks for your challenge tho'.

Hi Trish... You are welcome!

Sally they work beautifully and if I never paint this small again... not saying I won't, but... then I'll have somewhere to put all of those CD's that are lying around the CD player!!!

Yes, Sargent as in J.S! You're the winner! ;-)

I had a Golden Retriever named Skipper when Sargent came along a few years ago, I lost Skip, but they were best buds. Sargent is sometimes called other things tho....

Thanks Jeremy.

Mark... Believe me, I would have been very happy to know that someone was doing this. It would have saved some hair from all of the head scratching I did trying to figure something out.
So you too huh? :)
Yeah, I'm going to work on something to do with it all.

Marc, I've been away from my computer, so am playing catch up with your postings. Very nice paintings and I love the CD rack idea.
Are you thinking of posting all the images from your marathon month on one page on your website or blog? It would be interesting to see them all together. Which ones are your favorites? I'm interested in hearing what you have learnt the most about painting or yourself working in this intense way.

What a great idea!!! Thanks so much for sharing that. I even have one of those somewhere. Going to look for it. :)

Maggie... I think I emailed you but yes, they are on the website all under the roof of 'April Painting Marathon' collection in the paintings menu item.
And like I mentioned... they're my kids, no favorites. There are some that I was surprise by, like in I didn't think that they were going to work at all, then they did. I like those a lot.
Yes, I will do something with all of this. But I am going to take the time to stand back a little bit from it and give myself the advantage of a little perspective before doing anything.

Connie you cracked me up with that comment! I don't know what I'll do with my time now either... oh wait... I'll paint! I can't wait to paint next.
