There isn't too much color in the way of leaves left around here. But I found that along the river some of the gold is still hanging on. Very nice find. Tomorrow it's probably going to be all over. We're expecting rain all day long and that will probably knock the remaining leaves off.
Thank you Marian.
Thanks Brian. It's a great combination of color to work with. Today was calm, sweetly warm and the light saturated the color beautifully. Fun.
Amanda... I appreciate it, thank you. The scene was unbelievably soft and smoky yesterday. When I'm painting something like this, I let my reactions to what I put onto the surface be my guide to how well I'm capturing what I'm seeing and sensing.
For instance, in this painting, any brushstroke or piece of color that went on either got an 'Ahh...' or a 'Uh oh...' reaction from me. I'm not standing there uttering these reactions out loud, but I feel this in my soul and react to them by redoing the stroke or leaving it alone.
The final look of the painting, how well I managed to capture the mood of the scene, has a lot to do with how well I make these judgements. Some days I'm more sensitive to this than others.
Mark, wow, so beautiful. You are the master of soft and subtle grays and so awesome at capturing light and atmosphere. Those are the things that really attract me to a painting and to a scene.
The soft violet and gold of the trees with the bright blue and red of the foreground, are magical. The way the colors support each other without imposing over the other. The light of the day rests in their combined beauty.
I've been getting your newsletter and have to finally say how much I enjoy it. The night series was lovely. This one just blows me away. Is it spoken for?
The word art can describe several things: a study of creative skill, a process of using the creative skill, discount oil paintings, or the audience's experience with the creative skill. The creative arts (art as discipline) are a collection of disciplines that produce artworks (art as objects) that are compelled by a personal drive (art as activity) and convey a message, mood, or symbolism for the viewer to interpret (art as experience). Art is something that stimulates cheap vibram 5 finger shoes, emotions, beliefs, or ideas through the senses. Artworks can be explicitly made for this purpose or interpreted on the basis of images or objects. Although the application of scientific knowledge to derive a new scientific theory involves skill and results in the "creation" of something new, this represents science only and is not categorized as art.
Many definitions of art have been proposed by philosophers and others who have characterized art in terms of mimesis, discount oil paintings, communication of emotion, or other values. During the Romantic period, art came to be seen as "a special faculty of the human mind to be classified with religion and science".Though art's definition is disputed and has changed over time, general descriptions mention an idea of human agency and creation through imaginative or technical skill. The nature of art, and related concepts such as beltaff bag and interpretation, are explored in a branch of philosophy known as aesthetics.

Hi Jesus. Thank you very much!!!
Beautiful! I like your use of color, with the golden yellow and the violet. Lovely, moody piece!
Great work Marc, full of wonderful subtlety. The softness that you have created is just beautiful, great edges.
